    Job Summary:

    The C5 - Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber Department in the Digital, RF, and Power Products Team at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong digital circuit design skills.  Our digital electronic system designs include signal processing, command and control, communications, and user interfaces for military applications.

    Applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team environment and will be collaborating with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts. Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills.

    U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Design FPGA based circuit boards using CAD tools

    • Work within a team of engineers developing designs based on modeling and simulations 

    • Help drive projects and execute to program schedules on time and budget

    • Support internal technical reviews

    An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two additional years of experience.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline

    • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the design and implementation of digital circuits

    • Experience using engineering CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition Designer for the design of complex circuit board assemblies

    • Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to test and verify the functions of digital and mixed signal circuits and systems

    • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

    Qualifications We Value:

    • Experience with RADAR system hardware

    • Experience implementing high speed memory (DDR3 or DDR4) and high speed SERDES designs

    • Experience implementing low noise, low voltage, high current, power regulation designs

    • Experience constructing test and integration plans for circuit boards

    • Proven track record of meeting system requirements, schedule deadlines, and project budgets

    • A history of successfully addressing thermal challenges

    • Signal Integrity analysis skills including experience using tools such as Hyperlynx SI

    • Complex circuit card assemblies between 16 and 32 layers

    • Constraint Editor System (CES)

    • Use of Power Integrity analysis tools such as Mentor’s Hyperlynx PI

    • A history of successfully fielding and troubleshooting a variety of systems including custom designed processor and/or FPGA based circuit boards

    • Embedded system design experience utilizing microprocessors and microcontrollers along with C code based programming

    • Some FPGA development and verification skills using SystemVerilog, OVM, or VHDL with some experience with vendor logic synthesis tools (such as Xilinx Vivado)

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to function effectively as part of a larger team

    • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

    • Willingness to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel

    • Existing security clearance
