EMIT/PETE - Senior Software Engineer (Onsite)

Raytheon Intelligence and Space, located in Richardson, Texas (Cityline) is looking for a candidate to join our world-class engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer for our Enterprise Mission Integration Team/Persistent Enterprise Test Environment.  As a candidate for this opportunity, you should have a good foundation in Mathematics, physics, software engineering, and data science.  The candidate will work in a team-oriented environment developing advanced data processing algorithms for mission critical system.  The candidate should have a demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering.  The candidate must also be able to work from within the Raytheon Technologies facility in Richardson, TX.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $20k for a person with a TS/SCI clearance that can be verified and hired here at Raytheon Intelligence & Space

Required Skills:

• An active and in-scope TS/SCI US security clearance
• Experience supporting middle-tier / backend software development.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including following code standard, collaborating across disciplines, participating in code reviews, and working within a standardized source control management (Git), build, and test process.
• Experience primarily with the Java programming language, in addition to a working knowledge of Python/Groovy.
• Ability to work occasional overtime to support critical program events

Desired Skills:

• Development and deployment of containerized applications to an Orchestrator Service such as Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate, or Docker.
• Familiarity with Enterprise level integration and Enterprise Integration Patterns
• Experience working through the technical resolution of issues with co-contractor and customer counterparts
• Along with the container orchestration previously mentioned, looking for a working knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Atlassian tool suite, Jenkins, and/or Log Management/Immutable Data Stores like Splunk/Elasticstack.
• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and DevSecOps
• Experience with design, code, integration, and test of large systems
• Experience working with and communication with internal and external customers

Required Education/Experience:

• 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically); OR
• 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically)
   

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
