DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is looking for a motivated, ambitious individual to join our Hot Section Durability organization. 

Work Schedule: Hybrid (Combination of Remote and On-Site work).

Up to 10% Travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute designs and thermal analyses of cooled and uncooled turbine airfoils  and ceramic matrix composite (CMC) concepts.
  • Support the design, development, validation, production implementation and management of advanced and operational engines flying across the globe.
  • Perform heat transfer, fluid flow, and computational fluid dynamics analyses.
  • Perform mission life and validation analyses.
  • Interface with numerous internal and external customers and suppliers, including manufacturing, casting and core suppliers, and overhaul and repair facilities.
  • Document and present technical material to design teams and senior leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0+
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Concentration in Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics.
  • Knowledge in Material Science and Statistics.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with detail-oriented focus.
  • Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience at P&W or a similar Aerospace company
