Collins Aerospace is looking for a Drafter to join their team in Jamestown, ND. This position will perform drafting duties by operating Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment. Performs routine drafting assignments requiring the application of standard drafting methods, procedures, and techniques.  This position will also perform review on drawings created by other team members and provide support on handling and storing of engineering drawings and documents.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use CAD tools to generate new or change 2D detail, assembly, equipment, and layout drawings from 3D CAD models per industry and The Company’s drafting standards.

• Use CAD tools to check new or changed 2D detail, assembly, equipment, and layout drawings per industry and The Company’s drafting check standards.

• Apply Geometric, Dimensioning, and Tolerancing (GD&T) standard practices to drawings and drawing changes.

• Route and signoff drafting tasks within The Company’s Product Digital Management system (PDM).

• Work closely with our Global Engineering Drafting Teams’ to ensure drafting strategies are being executed to program plan

• Assist Design Engineering with 3D model creation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

• In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CAD systems NX and CATIA

• Experience with PLM PDM/PLM systems Teamcenter and ENOVIA

• Experience with ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard

• Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD)
