    Job Summary:

    Raytheon Missiles and Defense has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Safety professional to support our Safety compliance programs within the Environment, Health & Safety department in Tucson, Arizona.

    The successful candidate will monitor, administer, evaluate, and coordinate company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace. Develops and advises employee workplace programs related to emergency response, safety, ergonomics, environmental policy, and industrial hygiene. Coordinates confirmation of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations. Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of health safety program implementation.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Responsible for the recognition, evaluation, and control of hazardous conditions associated with the workplace that may cause injury or impaired health among workers.
    • Able to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory standards to make determinations.  Review present and proposed industry occupational health standards and can analyze potential impacts to regulatory requirements. Audits occupational health & safety programs and surveys existing and new installations.
    • Maintain and improve EHS programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirements. 
    • Answer employee compliance questions and concerns and influence safe behaviors.
    • Conduct first aid and OSHA injury investigations and root cause analysis.  Identify corrective actions and track to completion.
    • Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
    • Support and implement site injury reduction, environmental, ergonomic and sustainability goals and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels in the business.
    • Effectively organize, prioritize, and address multiple, simultaneous projects or tasks.

    Qualifications You Must Have:
     

    • Typically requires a university degree and 2 years prior relevant experience or an Associate’s degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience or in the absence of the degree, 6 years prior relevant experience.
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Value:
     

    • Experience with EHS project or program management.
    • Ability to obtain Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification within 4 years.
    • Experience or knowledge in managing Safety programs.
    • Experience or knowledge in Industrial Hygiene
    • Experience or knowledge in industrial ergonomics principles.
    • Experience in providing and/or developing EHS training.
    • Active Secret level or higher security clearance.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with preparation and delivery of presentations.
