Job Description:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking for a Product Definition Drafter in Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) for Compression Systems. Candidate will have the opportunity to process Engineering Changes to support Engineering in the elimination of QNS, Escapes, work stops, etc. The candidate also can have the opportunity to do design assist work for Design and Structures discipline, which include 3D model creation and/or 3D model updates. Candidate will work with Teamcenter by creating and/or updating all the necessary paperwork to support the completion of the process until is Issued. All work must follow the Product Definition standard work and Class II Manual. Travel up to 10%
Key Responsibilities:
Work Under minimal supervision, performs substantially varied and complex task.
Applies advanced skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area.
Adapts new procedures, techniques and tools to meet the high complex requirements of position.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
Understands key concepts in their discipline (PD ESW, GD&T, Unigraphics/Nx, Teamcenter/Nxmanager,BCT Raster)
May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of other employees.
Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of high complex problems & issues, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
Perform Class II Class II Engineering Changes including marked prints.
Perform (minor) supervised checking of Class II related documentation and incorporated part prints.
Demonstrate ability to produce extremely complex 3D models per part family PD ESW standards and under minimal supervision.
Apply and interpret part family specific Geometric Form Control to ASME Y14.5M/PWA79360 standards.
Apply dimensioning techniques per part family PD ESW standards including DRM practices. Must include manufacturability and inspection considerations.
Apply dimensional stack-up techniques including ASME Y14.5 influences.
Other Major Areas of Responsibilities:
Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required
Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement
Support product definition community initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
Two-year Associates degree in related field (Drafting/Design Technology or equivalent), Technical School Certificate or Diploma
10+ years in related discipline (Drafting/Design Technology or equivalent)
English fluency (verbal/ written)
US Citizenship due to government contracts
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Experience in NX 3D/CAD modeling
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with compression system parts
Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
Experience with CAD programs (UG), Teamcenter, SAP
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent at promoting teamwork
