    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

    Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

    Pratt & Whitney Military Engines is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to assist the F135 Modernization Program Manager in the execution of the F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Program. The F135 Modernization Deputy Program Manager is a key focal point in the day-to-day execution of the ECU program and will work alongside the Program Manager to execute the ECU program.

    The F135 ECU will improve upon the already stellar performance of the F135 engine to secure its place for future growth of the F-35 aircraft.   In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with key Pratt & Whitney Military Engine, Engineering, and other support organization stakeholders from across the company.

    This program is a fast paced, dynamic environment and the correct candidate must be able to adapt on the fly and lead appropriately.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Communicate and Coordinate program deliverables
    • Monitor established schedules and follow through on CIPT timely execution to meet deadlines and commitments – hardware for engine test, design reviews
    • Direct monthly business rhythm – EV, IMS, CDRLs
    • Develop and give presentations and communications
    • Support Quarterly Technical Reviews and Program Meetings
    • Proposal Support
    • Risk Management and budgeting
    • Fill in for the Program Manager when necessary to make decisions to drive the team to successfully complete program milestones
    • Management of both government and company funded budgets

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field is required. Or, an MS degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field with 7+ years of Engineering and Program Management experience required.
    • A minimum of 10+ years  of Engineering and Program Management experience required.
    • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.
    • Must have an active secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Teaming and leadership ability
    • Office application knowledge such as MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Experience with Earned Value Management and Integrated Master Schedules
    • Experience in risk management processes
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
    • Ability to develop and present material to cross-functional teams
    • Technical knowledge and background in development, sustainment, and/or maintenance of military propulsion systems is a plus
