We are looking for a Coop Student to join our Facilities Technical team at Miramar Florida Location. The Intern will be involved in a wide variety of engagements that will work closely with our functional partners and leadership. The position is to specifically support a critical need within global security in Collins Miramar, the protection of people, physical and intellectual assets, customers, and Collin Aerospace’s reputation. As such we are working to mature our security program and ensure physical security controls adequately protect our employees, visitors, customers, and assets through a risk-based security assessment process. The incumbent is also to support the operations team in meeting operational and financial targets by delivering improved uptime of equipment and oversite of Collins Miramar’s equipment and operations. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June- December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2023.

Primary Responsibilities

The role is created for Engineering studies students with an interest in gaining experience in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment for a short period of time. Each student will be expected to use their own initiative and undertake self-directed learning within a supportive environment to work with the team to develop goals and objectives to further common areas of interest. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Participates in preventive maintenance measures on all the Equipment.

• Perform Security Gap Assessments

• Collaborate with team for modification, repair, test, and checkout of the equipment.

• Participates in light equipment Preventative maintenance

Basic Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in English and Spanish but not required. (Both written and oral); must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management via email, telephone, and in person.

• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across diverse organizations and teams.

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity in a diverse environment.

• Experience working in a team to quickly address challenges.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
