Position summary

*Active Secret Clearance Required

This is position is responsible for factory team management and oversight of an assembly and test production team within the McKinney Advanced Products Center Value Stream. This role is responsible for cost, schedule, and quality performance on the factory floor. Job duties include supervision of day-to-day factory operations, resource loading, process control, and business performance metrics. The position will interface with factory operators, Production Control, Program Operations, Quality, Engineering, Factory Management and the customer. The position uses Lean Manufacturing techniques to successfully meet production requirements.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of related work experience that includes supervising direct reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills
  • Experience either closely managing a production team and/or group of subordinate employees.
  • Must have broad knowledge of manufacturing planning/scheduling and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Significant experience in manufacturing operations
  • Broad knowledge of information technology systems (business, engineering, manufacturing, financial) Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • US citizenship is required as the position does require the ability to access US only data systems

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with processes such as IPDS, EVMS, R6s, SAP and CMES or an equivalent shop floor management & MRP system.
  • Experience with cost management and/or rework reduction efforts
  • Experience in a fast-paced process environment with responsibility for managing resource constraints.
  • Experience with Visual Controls, Line Balancing, LEAN Factory management principles and optimizing the use of critical resources.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, process development and continuous improvement. Technical writing experience
  • Six Sigma process improvement experience
  • Active Secret Clearance Required

Typically Requires:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) or bachelor’s in arts (B.A.) in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field  and 5 years relevant experience.

Desired Education:  

  • Master of Science Degree (M.S.) or Master in Arts (M.A.)  or MBA in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 3 years relevant experience.
