Collins Aerospace Aerostructures is looking for an Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement to implement ACE/CORE Continuous Improvement across all aspects of business processes to align and execute the ACE/CORE Operating System. This resource will lead events, support progression of CORE apprentice, and facilitate improvements.
Primary Responsibilities
Facilitates events/activities to deliver value to our customers to create self-sufficiency
Plan, lead and execute the implementation of the CORE Operating System across Collins sites.
On-time delivery recovery
Quality escapes and/or yield improvement activities
Specific cost/spend pressures including productivity/efficiency
Transform sites/cells to flow/pitch/takt using standard work (SWCS, % load, SWS)
Align all portions of operations to work in harmony, to include development of robust SIOP processes.
Determine/monitor/improve KPI's and implementation processes
IT Systems (SharePoint, web-based content delivery, etc.)
Positively affect KPI change
Identifies cost reduction and process improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
Coordinates sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
Leverages analysis on cell performance and productivity to maximize productivity.
Lead special projects as needed
The areas in which the candidate will contribute to Naval Value Stream may include assignments with opportunities across the ACE/CORE operating system:
Goal Alignment & Strategy (including strategic and annual planning)
Lean and Robust Processes (including process management & process maturity, RRCA, QCPC, 5S, and visual management)
Customer Satisfaction and Results (including control tower development & refinement, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial results)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%
Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing practices
Experience implementing process improvements
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and leaders
Blueprint, drawings and routing reading and comprehension
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
Project Management certification
ACE Practitioner (or equivalent)
Certified Kaizen Event Leader
Certified Lean Transformation Leader
TPS based continuous improvement experience is a plus
Operations/Shop Floor Management experience
Industrial or manufacturing engineering experience
