Position summary

Raytheon AST is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our Security team in the Salt Lake City, Utah Area. You will have a key role supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment process for all customer we currently support. The selected candidate will be recognized as a technical authority and SME on information security RMF derived regulations such as: ICD-503, NIST, NISPOM, DAAPM, and JSIG. Raytheon AST is seeking an adaptable and engaged candidate with 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity with multiple responsibilities to include the follow through of a comprehensive Cybersecurity program under the applicable governing Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

As a Systems Security Engineer – Cyber/ISSE, your day-to-day activities may include: 

Supporting the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies

Assist in updating, modifying and implementing current processes and workflows, which are in line with RAST customers guidelines, this will include documentation such as, Tirage, Body of Evidence (BOE) submissions and Plan of Action and Milestone (POAM)

As time permits evaluate, Commercial off the Shelf (COTS} and Government off the Shelf (GOTS} technologies - systems, applications, and services -against the Activity's INFOSEC and Cybersecurity requirements and needs.

Recommend/Develop Detailed Security Design by analyzing design constraints, analyzing trade-offs, generating detailed system and security design, with life-cycle support consideration.

Help verify System Security Requirements by developing the system security context, Security Concept of Operations {CONOPs), and Security Requirements Baselines from the gathered Customer and Stakeholder requirements.

Recommend/Defining security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software component

Supporting the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations

Performing analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results

Conducting cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance of the security posture

Understanding, and compliance with, IC and DoD technology release and export licensing policies

Required Skills:

8+ years of Technical (hands-on) experience related to Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development, and implementation

Systems engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering Studies

IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools; e.g., Rapid7, Retina, NMap, Nessus, CIS Benchmark, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)

Usage of information security toolsets including anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/ NIDS. host-based or endpoint security solutions, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing tools.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Desired Skills:

Security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand-alone and in LAN/WAN configurations

Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies

Required Education (Including Major):

Minimum of 8+ years of experience working directly with Cyber Security technologies.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with ability to obtain TOP SECRET clearance with a Polygraph.

Bachelor’s degree typically required in Cybersecurity or Information Assurance

Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have deep knowledge of project management. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and

ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs

or systems.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years

prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree

in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited

by local laws/regulations.
