    The Pratt & Whitney Customer Training Center (CTC) is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) focused on next-generation training. Leveraging established instructional design methodologies, the ISD will apply principles of adult learning to design, develop, and implement effective and scalable solutions across a variety of media platforms. This may include, but is not limited to, instructor-led, online self-paced, or video-based.

    In support of the organization, the ISD will design and develop technical and non-technical instructional materials for both internal and external customers. They must demonstrate and utilize effective needs analysis, project management, and evaluation skills to create entry and advanced-level content.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct needs analyses with business partners and subject matter experts to determine the most appropriate and effective solution(s) for increasing skillset, work performance, quality, and/or efficiency.
    • Find creative solutions to translate highly technical materials and concepts into real-world, tangible scenarios.
    • Working closely with SMEs, design and develop instructional content for web and/or print applications.
    • Create grammatically accurate, readable, and engaging content.
    • Measure learning effectiveness to reinforce established learning objectives.
    • Coordinate/prepare materials for distribution and deployment, including a thorough Final File Management (FFM) content review, and publishing to SharePoint and/or our Learning Management System (LMS).
    • Create and maintain project schedules and deliverable timelines.
    • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
    • Employ creative development methods and incorporate new technologies to drive innovation.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience or Advanced Degree and 3+ years of related experience. In lieu of degree a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years of related experience in a related field.
    • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in instructional Design, English, Creative Writing, Professional Writing, Technical Writing, or a related field.
    • Thorough understanding of industry leading learning models.
    • Ability to create powerful assessment elements to accompany courses and curricula.
    • Mid-level understanding of learning technology platforms such as SharePoint and LMS.
    • The ability to whiteboard ideas, develop slides and rapid prototype.
    • Working knowledge of visual design (e.g., Photoshop) and course development (e.g., Articulate) software.
    • Superior communication skills with the ability to effectively interpret and articulate complex topics.
    • A demonstrable passion for learning and teaching others.
    • This role is hybrid and expected to be on site in EH 3 days/week.
    • Proven work experience with instructional design and courseware development principles.
    • Excellent knowledge of industry learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE).
    • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts.
    • Proficient using training development software such as Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, iSpring, Camtasia, and other applicable MS Office software.
    • Strong project and process management skills.
    • Proactive in building and developing new training tools and solutions to streamline existing processes.
    • Team player with proven ability to maintain strong working relationships within a matrix organization.
    • Commitment to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of Customer Training by participating in community initiatives such as CORE, EH&S council and/or our employee resource groups.

    What is my role type?

    Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
