Intern - ACT Systems Engineering

• As Interns, candidates will engage in active development of advanced RF and / or EO Systems exploiting the Electro Optics / Infra Red sensors and / or electromagnetic spectrum for sensing, tracking, and situational awareness. A good candidate will have a relevant background and a hunger to learn. Data synthesis, resource management, and autonomous decision making each require careful planning and optimization – your challenge will be excelling on all fronts!

  Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

  • Working with the team to convert customer requirements into robust software and sensor systems.

  • Coding MATLAB/C or relevant languages (C++, Java, Python) and changes to shared repos.

  • Creating and frequently updating team tasks and milestones to ensure customer satisfaction.

  Skill Categories:

  • EO / IR Sensors

  • Signal Processing/FFT/Linear filters (LTI)/Radar

  • Target tracking/Kalman Filter/EKF/Covariance/Statistical Distance

  • Sensor adaptation/Resource Management/Autonomous Control/Optimization

  • Simulation/Modelling/Quantitative Analysis/Large datasets

  • Antenna/Aperture/Hardware/ADC/FPGA/GPU

  • Geospatial/WGS84/Coordinates/ECEF

  Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • Relocation assistance available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements

  Requirements:

  • Experience in one or more skill categories (see “Key responsibilities”) either through internships or project coursework.

  • Well-honed programming and program solving skills.

  Desired Requirements:

  • Experience in two or more skill categories (see “Key responsibilities”) either through internships or project coursework.

  Required Education:

  Graduating soon - with a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related field by Summer 2023 or be a recent college graduate.
