This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June to December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.

Collins Mission Systems is seeking an Intern to support our Business Development Operations Excellence team focused on Competitive Intelligence (CI) and Price-to-Win (PTW) efforts.

This is an exciting role to learn how to compete and win new business in the US and International aerospace and defense industry market. It is a dynamic position supporting multiple projects and efforts across different markets and business units within Collins Mission Systems.

The focus of this role will be to support the CI and PTW team with competitive data collection and analysis, predictive analytics, win/loss assessments and win strategy analysis.  Additionally, the job may require working with partner organizations in related areas of strategic and market analytics, capture strategy and execution, and business development operations management.  

Responsibilities include supporting the CI/PTW team:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform primary/secondary research on Collins markets and competitors and developing customer and competitor analysis on strategic captures

  • Synthesize information to develop comprehensive CI analysis that provides Campaign and Pursuit level recommendations, including but not limited to: development of CI Plans, customer & competitor assessments, support development of Collins win strategies and competitive bid recommendations that increases the probability of winning new business.

  • Develop and maintain CI databases, processes, and tools by appropriately cataloging customer, competitor, technology, and pricing information

  • Define and implement leading edge CI practices within Collins, including advanced analytics techniques

  • Ad hoc leadership queries related to competitors, win/loss analysis and strategic market opportunities.

  • Black Hats reviews to determine Collins competitive position on strategic pursuits

  • Price-to-Win development and recommendation

  • Post-award Win-Loss assessments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and takes initiative

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint a plus

  • Able to work collaboratively across organizations to resolve problems and achieve results under time pressures and in visible and impactful circumstances

  • Ability to organize and multi-task

  • Analytical and strategic minded

  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn
