Lead Assembly/Fixture-Tool Designer Technician (Onsite)

This position is for a Lead Manufacturing Engineering Tool Design Technician who is under minimal supervision. This person will be responsible for designing welding, machining, assembly and inspection tooling and fixtures for engineering projects. Confers with engineers on details required for the designs, creates 3D models, obtains quotes, and submits requisitions.

Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to production and product specifications across applicable operating conditions

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design fixtures for machining, welding, assembly, inspection, and test fixtures & tooling.

• Produces drawings, reports and engineering documentation including work instructions for operations, equipment drawings, and equipment specifications.

• Performs troubleshooting and continuous improvement involving the testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, equipment, and systems.

• Also maintains and coordinates process layouts, process controls to ensure equipment is performing to design specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

• AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

• OR In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required.

• OR A Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 2 years of relevant experience.

• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

• Working knowledge of CAD Solidworks (8 years minimum).

• Microsoft Office, SAP.

• Working knowledge of machining, welding, and GD&T.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive working knowledge with designing machining, welding, and inspection fixtures.

• Extensive working knowledge with designing assembly tooling.
