Linux Administrator

Job Description:

Raytheon is seeking a System Administrator with strong Linux administration background to join our team in developing and maintaining systems in a classified environment.

Clearance Requirements:

• US Citizenship
• Must have at least a current active SECRET clearance

Required Skills: 

• In-depth knowledge of the Linux OS
• Experience working in a LINUX-based development environment
• Experience configuring and managing LINUX operating systems
• Experience installing/loading of operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining system integrity, and configuring network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Provides LINUX administration support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems
• Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.
• Configures and manages LINUX operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Basic TCP/IP networking
• Python / BASH /Shell Scripting
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, writing skills, and professional image
• Ability to multi-task
• Self-starter with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail and follow-through when completing tasks
• Ability to plan, schedule, and arrange activities in accomplishing objectives
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to display tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with all levels of Raytheon Technologies employees and Customers
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all access as required by the programs.

Desired Skills:  

• Open source tools such as buildroot and yocto project
• Small board computers (including Arduino and Raspberry Pi)
• Microcontrollers
• ATMEL studio or Arduino integrated development environment (IDE)
• Application of VPN technology
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols
• Knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.
• Experience working with Cloud Providers such as AWS, Rackspace, and Microsoft Azure, etc is a plus

Required Education: 

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience.
• Experience may qualify in lieu of degree.
