Linux Administrator, MiS Secure Labs (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems, is hiring a Linux Systems Administrator for our Secure Labs support team.  A security clearance is not required initially but will be needed within 6 months.  It’s expected that this team member will apply for Government Security Clearance (collateral secret) within the first 2 weeks of employment.  Qualified candidates should have a passion for technology and be excited about finding new ways to add value to our business.  This position is 100% onsite with potential for up to 10% travel. 

General Job Responsibilities:  

• Linux Systems Administration 

• Network Administrations 

• Client / Server support of lab systems 

• Regularly works with other members of the organization as part of a cross functional team and/or leads cross-functional initiatives  

• Builds strong relationships with customers and peers  

• Receives little instruction from leadership and is expected to delegate to peers when appropriate  

• Assists in requirements capture activities within the team including both customer and derived technical requirements. Ensures use cases, workflow, and requirements are accurate and complete  

• Create solution Matrix w/ cost & schedule  

• Serves as focal point for escalations  

• Leads development and/or improvement of internal processes (LEAN/ACE/CORE)  

• Facilitates resolution of complex problems  

• May lead complex infrastructure initiatives

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

• Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

• US Citizenship or Green Card Holder  

• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
