Linux Systems Administrator- On-Site

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to support a cleared program in McLean, VA. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance, with a full-scope poly (cross-over eligible).

The ideal candidate shall be able to provide analysis, design, development, deployment, and lifecycle support for leading edge hardware and software systems. Translate mission needs into technical requirements while developing and implementing end-to-end solutions to meet requirements. Provide hands on technical direction for personnel, design and develop solutions to applications, system administration, and network issues.

Required Skills:

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in virtualization architecture and design;

• Building Linux server and workstation baselines;

• Conduct Linux server and workstation security hardening;

• Experience with monitoring and configuration management tools;

• Conduct routine patching of Linux hosts;

• Proven experience in all aspects of managing large Unix/Linux environment including the use of configuration management tools;

• Proven experience creating, implementing, and maintaining scripts for process automation, infrastructure monitoring, and proactive reporting;

• Ability to utilize analysis tools to resolve complex network, systems, and application performance problems;

• Managing a large, complex server environment

• Architecting, deploying, and managing a Linux networked environment including deployment and management of Centrify, NIS(+), LDAP, DNS, and NFS;

• Experience working with server hardware in a datacenter

• Ability to provide explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Security testing and risk mitigation;

• Experience working with server hardware in a data-center;

• Written and verbal communication skills; troubleshooting skills

Education:

A university degree in a technical area of study, or equivalent experience (minimum five years)

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or

systems in order to provide enhancements within job area. Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years

prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a

minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
