The Major Incident Management team is accountable for managing high impact interruptions to mission critical services causing significant disruption to business operations that demands a response beyond the standard incident management process. The function requires:
Effectively manage matrixed teams in the rapid assessment/triage and resolution of significant interruptions of mission critical corporate shared DT services
24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis. When primary, be available to respond to engagements within 5 minutes and be within 15 minutes of internet access with a corporate liable laptop/phone to initiate issue triage and assessment is necessary
Provide written and verbal targeted leadership communications
Collaborate with a variety of support teams, operational command centers, and Service Desks to communicate status and possible workarounds to impacted user base
Clearly and fully document issue, participants in the process, steps taken to restore service, and final status
Ensure all input required for the Problem Management process is documented and provided
Generate detailed and timely documentation of the service interruption, business impact, parties engaged and responsible, and steps taken to restore service
Recommend best practice-based process improvements that result in more effective service delivery
Collaborate with team resources on procedure/process documentation, publication, socialization, and upkeep
Complete assigned tasks and initiatives in projected timeframe and provide periodic updates to leadership/team.
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
