Manager, Material Planning (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace Puerto Rico Operations in looking for a Material Planning Manager to lead and supervise material planners and schedulers of electronic and mechanical operations.

Incumbent for this position creates and executes plan for every part and maintain master data for purchased parts, sub-assemblies, end items and other parts as required. Facilitates the capacity management process, including identification and escalation of long term capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SI&OP. Executes continuous management of the master demand schedule, including adherence to all required validations using the best information available, in order to provide long range OE and aftermarket demand visibility in support of financial planning, internal and external capacity management, and the overall SI&OP process. Monitors the transportation and delivery of inter/intraplant parts and outbound finished products. Tracks and manages inter/intraplant work in process (WIP), promise dating, expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow. May oversee command center and drive part shortage resolution. Monitors tracking and shipping. Performs escalated expediting when required to ensure on time delivery of material. Mitigates risks for short term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
• Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
• Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages team of intermediate and experienced professionals and sets operational plans for team.
• Leads in the establishment of plans and maintaining data for purchased parts, subassemblies, end items and other parts as required.
• Spearheads the development of the capacity management process, including identification of capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SIOP.
• Leads in the establishment of continuous management for the master demand schedule, including adherence to required validations using the best information available.
• Lead inventory MDI (manage for daily improvement) process to track, identify causes and improved planning and scheduling processes
• Responsible for the transportation and delivery of inter/intra-plant parts and outbound finished products.
• Oversees tracking of inter/intra-plant work in process (WIP), promise dating, and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow.
• Monitors tracking and shipping process.
• Leads in the development of plans to minimize risks for shortages and ensures successful customer delivery.
• Administer performance feedback, development plan, performance review, merit increases, hiring, training and all other people related processes.
• Define new and innovative strategies to improve MPS attainment and on time deliveries
• Provide directions, expectation, objectives/goals to the material planners and schedulers according to and in alignment with RTX and Collins Aerospace Goal Alignment process
• Close interaction with Operations, Procurement, Program Managers, Sourcing, and liaise with other internal and external groups and or employees as needed

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, operations, or related field and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
• In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
• Effective communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).
• Candidate must be a U.S Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related
• Previous leadership experience in planning operations or similar environments
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP
• Leadership ability to conduct Lean, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement events
