    Job Description:

    Product Definition Drafter in Hot Section Engineering (HSE).  Candidate will have the opportunity to create/maintain parametric solid design models and associated drawings related to turbine airfoils.  Create parametric 3D models and other definition files to Design intent and Product Definition standard work using UG NX graphics software.  Produce part prints (using the UG NX graphics software) to Product Definition standard work which includes the application of dimensioning techniques per part family Engineering Standard Work while considering manufacturability and design intent. 

    Major Areas of Responsibilities or Task:

    • Under minimal supervision, performs substantially varied and complex task.

    • Applies advanced skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area.

    • Adapts new procedures, techniques and tools to meet the high complex requirements of position.

    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

    • Understands key concepts in their discipline (PD ESW, GD&T, Unigraphics/Nx, Teamcenter/Nxmanager,BCT Raster)

    • May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of other employees.

    • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of high complex problems and issues, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.

    • Apply and interpret part family specific Geometric Form Control to ASME Y14.5M/PWA79360 standards.

    • Apply dimensioning techniques per part family PD ESW standards including DRM practices.  Must include manufacturability and inspection considerations.

    • Apply dimensional stack-up techniques including ASME Y14.5 influences.

    • Perform Class II Class II Engineering Changes including marked prints.

    • Perform light (minor) supervised checking of Class II related documentation and incorporated part prints.  

    Additional expectations in this role required:

    • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required

    • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement

    • Support product definition community initiatives

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Two-year Associates degree in related field (Drafting/Design Technology or equivalent), Technical School Certificate or Diploma.

    • 10+ years experience in related discipline (Drafting/Design Technology or equivalent)

    • 5+ years experience in Hot Section Engineering (TMC and/or CAN)

    • English fluency (verbal/ written)

    • US Citizenship due to government contracts

    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications

    • NX 3D/CAD modeling

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with hot section hardware

    • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry

    • Experience with AutoCAD, Teamcenter, SAP & Airfoils applications

    • Possession of a United States Department of Defense Clearance is a plus

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Excellent at promoting teamwork
