    This is a Compression Systems Design Supervisor position supporting PW1000G HPC Design. This is a technical supervisor position where the candidate will lead a design team administratively and technically and participate as the design lead for related work. This associate will be responsible for integration with the CIPT, partners, mating modules and system design disciplines, in execution of design tasks supporting PW1000G HPC products.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Organize and manage task assignments. Support the CIPT in task planning, manpower requirements and coordinating in-house and outsource resources  
    • Performance feedback and results for the group. Coach, train and develop junior design engineers.
    • Cradle-to-grave design support, from preliminary through detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service.
    • Own and drive design discipline strength through review and approval of design jobs, DSMs, design layouts. The Design Supervisor will ensure that all design requirements for the module are met.
    • Provide design support in-service field investigations.
    • Provide leadership for multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
    • Lead teams to use "right-sized" analysis and methods to complete tasks efficiently.
    • Ensure Outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved by design associates with appropriate proficiency level.
    • Coordinate with other groups to read across lessons learned, advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
    • Documentation and communication of results to management.
    • The associate in this position must have exceptional people and problem-solving skills and will be the “go to person” for help in answering difficult design questions.

    Basic Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering with 8+ years relevant experience; OR
    • Advanced Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience
    • Proven leadership skills
    • US Citizen

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 10+ years jet engine design experience
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
