    The Mechatronics Technician is responsible for using a combination of mechanical, computer, and electronic systems to improve processes related to cable harness and integrated assemblies. The technician will work with internal and external teams to ensure a manufacturing solution is delivered which meets all stakeholders needs. This includes working within projects of various size and scopes.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Using mechanical, computer, and electronic technology to develop solutions to problems
    • Improving existing production processes by implementing various types of solutions including automation
    • Developing and building various products to meet specific mechanical, electrical, control requirements
    • Review and provide feedback to stakeholders on viability of new and existing mechatronics equipment
    • Implementing new equipment that improve production performance
    • Visualizing and modeling engineering systems to assist in the development of advanced technology
    • Identify tools and fixtures required to manufacture the product to the specifications
    • Work with operations team to drive efficiency by innovating our assembly and manufacturing processes
    • Work within safety requirements and ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained
    • Develop, design, acquire, or create new equipment for improved productivity, efficiency, and safety
    • Maintain excellent documentation of process changes and follow change management processes

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Fluent with desktop computers and ability to use Microsoft office with proficiency
    • Ability to read and understand customer/internal documentation, blueprints, and work instructions
    • Working knowledge of cable and harness assemblies
    • Experience of Military / Aerospace procedures, specifications, and regulations
    • Proficient in Solidworks and a familiarity with Autocad software
    • PLC programming and setup
