    The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization is looking to add a Metallurgical Process Control (MPC) technician to our team. This position assures that all Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE) and thermal processing equipment meet the requirements as specified in PWA-Material Control Lab manual and other Aerospace requirements. It will support Quality, Production, and Non-Production initiatives utilizing CORE tools. Duties include servicing, repairing & calibrating M&TE, Thermal Surveys, Capability & Suitability testing of M&TE, non-conformance investigations, auditing, and process approvals. Work activity is 80% manufacturing shop floor environment and 20% bench lab work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) calibration team is responsible for: Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) calibration for Pratt and Whitney production gages.
    • Utilize various types of electronic, thermal, vacuum & flow standards for calibration
    • Perform troubleshooting, calibration or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software
    • Perform thermal uniformity surveys for different types of furnaces and ovens
    • Perform task prioritizations
    • Interacts wit other functional groups (engineering, manufacturing) on routine technical matters
    • Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where some ingenuity and judgment are required.

     
    Basic Qualifications:

    • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
    • US citizenship is required due to government contracts 

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Education/experience in mathematics/statistics is a plus
    • General competence pertaining to Testing and Calibration Laboratories
    • Experience with heat treat thermal surveys
    • Experience with electronic, thermal, vacuum and flow calibrations
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical/mechanical systems
    • Strong proficiency in the use of hand tools and test equipment
    • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic production environment
    • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Strong computer skills
    • Knowledge of material heat treat a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with root cause and process controls tools
    • High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement
    • Experience in metrology, electrical, and vacuum systems
    • Likes to work with their hands
    • Troubleshoot items not meeting requirements
    • Work within SAP to update information on M&TE
    • Implement and support CORE and the Raytheon CORE culture
    • Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and continuously strive to improve safety
    • Strong Teammate and valued team member
    • Continue expanding knowledge of Calibration
    • Lead process improvement for current procedures and processes
    • Create standard work and operating procedures
