    Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world’s most powerful jet engines, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. If you seek to work in a dynamic environment and possess the motivation to convert new ideas into practice, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.  Pratt & Whitney Military Engines Engineering (MEE) is seeking a Deputy Sustainment Chief Engineer for Military Programs.  This position will require activity primarily in East Hartford, CT.

    The Military Sustainment Chief Engineers work in conjunction with the Military Engine Life Management Team (ELMT) Lead and Program Chief Engineers (PCE’s) to provide the strategic and technical direction needed to ensure readiness for scheduled depot overhauls and depot activations in an evolving military aftermarket business. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic, technical and leadership for engineering teams supporting depot
    • Guide development of and/or improvements of aftermarket processes, procedures, and engineering support teams
    • Drive military sustainment related program initiatives, such as Maintenance Cost Reduction, Keep Engines On Wing, etc.
    • Provide engineering support in depot specific forums, such as Depot Working Groups, DREP, and forecasting
    • Collaborate with ELMT Lead, Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT), and PCE’s across military programs
    • Support customer and partner engagements, including USAF, Joint Project Offices (JPO), and Pratt & Whitney Program Offices and Sustainment Operations

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
    • 12+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 10+ years of prior relevant experience
    • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
    • 10-20% travel is anticipated
    • Relocation Package Available

    • Advanced degree in Engineering
    • US Government Security Clearance
