Job Summary:

The Electro-Optics (EO) Department, within Digital, RF and Power Products, is

currently searching for an Engineering Section Leader (Section Head). Responsibilities will be split between supporting EO program(s) as an engineer (~85%) and providing functional support to the section “Sensor/Seeker Program Leads and REAs” (~15%). This position is located in Tucson, AZ.

Section Leader Responsibilities:

As a section leader, your responsibilities include working closely with the EO Department Manager and other Section Leaders to align department with company direction. Section Leaders are trustworthy and accountable, willing and able to coach and mentor section members and hold critical conversations.

Other responsibilities include the following;

• Support hiring (resume reviews, interviews, etc.)
• Support and/or drive department initiatives and goals
• Promote collaboration across functional and program boundaries
• Balancing staffing needs and align with section member growth
• Modeling and Driving Raytheon Values and Behaviors Support section member performance, career development, and growth throughout the year
• Elicit and compile performance feedback to support Performance Development
• Hold required formal Mid-Year and Year-End Performance Development
• (PD) discussion where compiled feedback, key strengths and development needs, are conveyed.

Engineering Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include product development, detailed design, analysis, integration and test, and support of transition to production efforts. Additional duties may include factory production line support in the areas of root cause and corrective action and problem resolution at various suppliers. Candidate will work in a self-directed manner, with only general guidance, while exercising responsibility in determining and meeting the technical, financial and schedule objectives of projects.

Qualification You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)with a minimum of 10 years applicable engineering experience in progressing leadership
• Current or previous professional experience in leading a team of similar discipline, including performance discussions and career development
• Experience in electro-optic subsystems, opto-mechanical design, or optical design.
• Experience in mechanical or optical design and design documentation
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Mechanical aptitude to provide solutionsto a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Experience with missile based EO products
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in opto-mechanical design and analysis
• Industry related documentation experience
• Business Acumen
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Active DoD issued security clearance
