Job Summary**:**

The Algorithm & Simulation (A&S) Directorate is responsible for algorithm development including Guidance, Navigation, and Control; radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO-IR) Signal Processing; and missile-and-sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for RMD's broad portfolio of projects, programs, and products. The Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MSA) teams design advanced, physics-based modeling solutions and support performance predictions through the creation and execution of simulation-driven virtual environments.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • The MSA Effectors Section Lead will have a technical role on at least one program in addition to performing the day-to-day leadership of a group of MSA engineers specializing in Signal and Sensor Modeling. 
  • You will provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills, and foster teamwork and interdependent execution for approximately 10 – 20 Engineers
  • You will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and merit appraisal for your team
  • You will ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement
  • You will support other organizational leaders in their role to develop employees, projects or strategic activities
  • You will support estimating and development of new project plans and strategic efforts
  • You will resolve complex problems that require analysis and make moderate contributions to improvement of discipline processes

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree
  • With a Bachelor’s degree listed above, you must have eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas (an advanced degree will satisfy 3 years of work experience):
    • Professional experience with genSim 6DOF simulations, genWorld, and either genIR or genRF signal and sensor modeling tools.
    • Experience managing a team of experienced professionals
    • Experience defining plans for project execution and working with individuals across work areas and geographic locations to assist with execution of work tasks
    • Experience programming in C++, C, Fortran, or other high order language
    • Experience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
    • Experience developing or simulating physical systems
    • Experience understanding tactical software interactions with simulation interfaces
    • Academic or work experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis as related to understanding the behavior and performance of existing or proposed engineering solutions
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Experience with hardware/software integration
  • Previous management experience in the following:
    • Developing and mentoring new employees
    • Communicating with different levels of employees, departments, and/or customers
    • A leadership role within a Modeling & Simulation department and/or function
    • Team building
    • Interviewing and hiring new employees
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Earned Value Management System Certification
  • Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
