At Collins Aerospace, it’s our people who make the difference and are the backbone of our technologies. We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering intern to join our New Product Introduction team in Wilsonville, Oregon.
Collins Aerospace Head-Up Guidance Systems (HGS) produced in Wilsonville are world class in performance and the market leader in its field. Whether it’s a nighttime operation or low visibility in adverse weather conditions, our HGS with enhanced vision systems give our customers the power and assurance of unprecedented situational and terrain awareness.
In addition to HGS at the Wilsonville site, Collins Aerospace Airborne systems develop and build industry leading helmet mounted display (HMD) technologies for current and future fighter jets. This HMD technology provides pilots with advanced situational awareness and gives the pilot all the critical information they need on the helmets visor, enhancing response times and reducing workload.
As part of the NPI team, the intern will be responsible to support the design for manufacturing effort including process development, work instruction creation, lean manufacturing and tooling development. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June to December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.

Primary Responsibilities:
New Product Introduction of new products from prototype design to full rate production
Utilize CAD to design assembly tooling
Support lean manufacturing efforts
Develop process flows and capacity analysis
Support prototype and development builds of next generation products
Partner with engineering to improve designs for manufacturability
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
