Raytheon Technologies Precision Manufacturing is a leader in high precision mechanical product manufacturing. The business consists of multiple sites in the Dallas area with around 560 employees. Job Summary:
The Process Engineering Metallurgical Lab Technician is responsible for performing lab testing, analysis, troubleshooting, specification interpretation, support of experiments, communication with Operations, Quality Assurance and Engineering, training, and process controls. The technician will also work as part of a team to ensure full coverage of shop support needs while displaying Raytheon values of trust, respect, collaboration, innovation and accountability.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Collaborates with Level 3 for NDT inspections including LPI, CT scanning, and X-ray
- Performs all process controls for NDT inspection processes
- Performs pressure testing (leak) on assemblies
- Performs tensile and hardness testing supporting heat treat and other processes
- Performs cross-sectional sample prep and analysis
- Collaborates with teammates, management and planning on prioritizing work and resources.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Meet the NAS 410 requirements for Level 2 Radiography and Penetrant inspection methods
- Have industrial CT system operating experience
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply technical specifications
- Self-starter, motivated, interested in new opportunities
- Must be willing to cross-train, share work with teammates, and work as part of a team
Qualifications We Value:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer competency, able to use MS Word & MS Excel
- Experience or familiarity with any of the following which are some of the technician responsibilities
- Welding or weld inspection
- Pressure testing (leak testing)
- Measurement of magnetism
- Plating microsection preparation and analysis
- Hardness measurement
- Microhardness measurement
- Tensile testing
