A rare opportunity exists to join Pratt & Whitney as Operations Manager of our Global Depots, Military Engines division.

Within the Sustainment Operations organization, the Global Depots Operations team is responsible for providing quality repair and service for the worldwide military engine fleet. This includes sustaining and growing a global team of rapid response service providers, providing on-wing and near-wing engine repairs, optimizing our fleet maintenance contracts, and generating growth and profitability through the development of enhanced offerings and capability improvements that provide customer value and deliver improved cost performance and speed of service.  Major deliverables include ensuring delivery of modules and engines, increasing service capabilities, and driving quality and performance to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional team of 25-30 [customer-facing] direct reports, including Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, and Technicians
  • Operate a safe, secure, and compliant workforce and facility
  • Oversee the execution of operations and projects to meet established targets and metrics
  • Ensure achievement of KPIs, including quality, cost and capture rate
  • Identify key issues affecting parts availability and repair development
  • Manage 3rd party partner and supplier performance contracted to support PW customers
  • Ensure consistent collection, monitoring, and trending / analysis of leading indicator data, fleet-specific variables, and technical issues that [could] impact rapid response, work scopes, and maintenance practices
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to ensure world-class repair processes are in place

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or applicable field and 12+ years of Operations Experience; OR an Advanced Degree and 10+ years of Operations Experience
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Operations Management, Business, or applicable field
  • Experience leading team of direct reports, preferably cross-functional or General Manager-type role
  • Operations experience in aircraft engine maintenance and overhaul
  • Aviation, or specifically, aircraft engine aftermarket and/or operations experience
  • Experience leading a P&L and/or with cost, budget, or project management
  • Strategic Leadership experience
  • Forecasting and/or planning experience – financial, headcount, etc.
  • Experience leading self-directed work teams across multiple functional disciplines
