Pratt & Whitney’s Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering (ASE) organization is currently seeking a Designated Engine Representative (DER) or Organization Designation Authorization Unit Member (ODA-UM) to support P&W Aftermarket Operations on behalf of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Consistent with the authority delegated by the FAA, Representative will approve or recommend for approval, repair and alteration data for gas turbine engine parts. Duties and Responsibilities include:
Validate that the technical data to be approved is properly substantiated; ensuring that parts repaired or altered to this data will not invalidate the engine models compliance with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
Review all of the engineering data to ensure it is sufficient and complete, such that all applicable airworthiness standards have been complied with and are properly substantiated.
Consult with the ASE Engineers and work within Standard Work Instructions, ensuring all necessary engineering resources have been utilized during the development of the technical data.
Ensure repair developers demonstrate compliance with applicable FAA Regulations through testing, analysis, service experience, computations, etc.
Ensure all technical data is complete, accurate and consistent with Pratt & Whitney engineering standards, such that all repairs and alterations are clearly presented, and all limits and instructions are concise and objective.

Advanced degree desirable.
Knowledge of FAA certification regulations and gas turbine engine operation and performance is highly desirable.
BS Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
Advanced degree desirable.
ODA-UM Candidate requires current ODA-UM or DER delegation per FAA Order https://8110.37, preferably Chart E, A1-A7, ideally including special delegation of major repairs and major alterations.
