Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  WLE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our WLE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines:  Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

The Mission Support and Sustainment Department is looking for candidates to contribute to an Engineering Team and work closely with the Whole Life Engineering (WLE) Functional Management to develop and implement strategic goals related to Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T) activities for multiple RMD programs.

Job Summary:
As a Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation Specialist, you’ll work on PHS&T related Engineering and strategic initiatives.

In this role, you’re accountable for technical execution, cost and schedule, and identification and elevation of technical and schedule risks for program areas relating to PHS&T. In addition, you’ll assist with tasking including the following:

• Integrated logistics support
• Engineering analysis to develop the scientific and / or technical information required by the customer.

Possible domestic travel approximately 10%

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Creating technical documentation related to PHS&T activities

• Creating and implementing various container and packaging specifications

• Performing trade studies and analyses pertaining to PHS&T

• Assisting in developing action plans to address key engineering focus areas regarding PHS&T

• Providing technical support for program milestones and positively engaging to contribute to successful reviews and customer interchanges

• Identifying and elevating technical execution risks (includes Technical Discipline, Technical Performance, Cost and Schedule Performance) to program and functional management

• Meeting the Team’s committed schedule, cost and performance requirements

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically Requires:  Bachelor's degree, and 8 years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree and minimum 5 years’ relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required. 

Employment Experience: 

• Experience with packaging engineering

• Logistics experience

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance
