    The Patriot Major Item Repairman (MIR) is responsible for testing, proper operation and repair of the Patriot System in support of the Major End Item (MEI) checkout during System Integration and Check-Out (SICO), Technical Assistance, Depot or 24/7 real world operations including being on call when systems support is needed. This candidate will provide in depth system knowledge and field experience related to the theory of operation and troubleshooting skills required to resolve complex Patriot missile system Major End Items (MEI) electronic and mechanical problems.  The MIR installs authorized third echelon modifications and provides day-to-day execution and oversight of the refurbishment and modification processes as well as demonstrate the ability to perform depot level diagnostic, fault isolation, cleanup and repair capability for PATRIOT Weapon System MEIs. The selected candidate must affect all electronic repairs on location with detailed system knowledge, the ability to use all of the hardware and software tools currently available to Organizational and Intermediate Maintenance. The MIR also monitors work performed by subordinates to insure it meets or exceeds established quality standards. Perform other duties and activities to include movement of materials and equipment to work locations, work site set up, completion of records, maintaining accountability of tools and equipment as directed. The MIR reports to Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, MIR Lead or Site Lead. Must observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when needed.

    Candidates for this position will be on a Long-Term International Assignment (LTIA) at an Undisclosed location.

    Required Skills:

    Minimum of 5 years of Intermediate level maintenance experience in support of the PATRIOT Air Defense System. This expertise includes but not limited to troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, and functional verifications of the Patriot Air Defense system or similar electronic systems using maintenance diagnostics, unit self-tests, BITE, tools and available test equipment.

    Trained and Knowledgeable in the operation, sustainment and troubleshooting procedures of the Patriot Missile System Radar.

    Successful completion of a Patriot System Intermediate Maintenance Course for MOS 27X/34S/94S/916A/918D or an equivalent course of instruction on a similar electronic system conducted by the military or the system contractor.

    Knowledge in the utilization of common industry external test equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum and digital analyzers.

    Must be able to work in harsh climates and be able to lift 50 lbs

    MUST HAVE CURRENT SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, A VALID US PASSPORT, AND A US DRIVERS LICENSE.

    Desired Skills:

    Above qualifications plus five (5) years Patriot Depot Forward maintenance experience.

    Knowledge with the operational/analytical software used on the Patriot System. Experienced in using Engagement Control Station (ECS) troubleshooting software aids Status Monitor, Switch 9, System Exerciser and Radar Action Cycler, in order to distinguish between digital and analog problems.

    Demonstrated experience with Contractor Logistics Support and comprehensive planning skills.

    Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills. 

    Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on achieving active participation of appropriate individuals across the business. 

    Demonstrated experience with training of team members. 

    Proficient with Microsoft Office.

    Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs and living and working in an overseas location a plus.

    Required Education (including Major):

    BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree and 5 years of experience.  Will substitute experience for education (must have at least 10 years of experience).

    Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

    management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

    Typically requires:

    A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience

    Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

    Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
