Rockwell Collins, Inc., a part of Collins Aerospace is seeking to add a Principal Specialist, Contracts to join the Mission Systems International contracts team. This position will work in close proximity to a Collins Aerospace office location and may also allow some remote work on a Hybrid type schedule. This role will Negotiate and manage contracts and business relationships. The qualified candidate will take personal initiative to proactively serve as team motivator and be a leader in creating strong morale and synergy. They will also provide customers with quality experiences, establishing and maintaining effective relationships throughout the entire contract management process.

Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews incoming customer requests for proposals, identifies proposal requirements, reviews terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance with company policies and procedures, assists in proposal development as required and participates in securing required management approval for submittal of proposals to customers
Participates in proposal reviews and approvals. Briefs management on Terms and Conditions
Review contractual terms and conditions for their acceptability, as well as, assessing risk and impact to the proposal utilizing the Company resources including legal, operations, and pricing, as necessary
Provide alternate terms and conditions to Customer
Operates in accordance with company policies and practices, and in compliance with accepted business ethics
Conducts contract negotiation and management of major contracts
Responsible for negotiating, structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with customers and/or partners
Works with sales, finance, and service teams as well as the legal department to structure contracts
Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government specifications and other requirements
Provides contract status and assistance to the program manager, functional areas, and management
Takes proper action to close out the contract in accordance with applicable procedures at the conclusion of all activity
Assures the timely communication of contract information to appropriate persons and maintains complete and accurate contract files
Acts as principal interface with internal/external customers on contractual matters
Takes necessary action or coordinates action to resolve any contractual problems with the contract execution team in a timely manner
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
Participates in determining objectives of assignment
Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives
Work is reviewed upon completion
May provide guidance and coaching to lower-level contracts employees
Hybrid 2-3 days in Office and remaining days Telecommute
Qualifications/ Experience Needed:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
DoD Security Clearance: Yes/U.S., does not need to have one; however, need the ability to obtain a clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Contract Management Experience preferred
International Contract Management Experience preferred
Government Contract Management Experience preferred
