Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity to join the Mission Systems Pricing & Cost Estimating organization as a Pricing & Cost Estimating Lead. This position will support the Mission Systems pricing team. Candidates will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization including the senior leadership team.
Be independently responsible for the development, analysis and completion of varying proposal types including the most significant proposals in terms of complexity and company importance
Lead/contribute to the development of pricing strategies (this includes understanding customer care-about(s), potential future work, affordability initiatives, program financial objectives, risks, and opportunities)
Work with other functions from across the company to understand and evaluate the labor, material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the associated program
Utilize company estimating and pricing programs and tools
Develop detailed Request for Estimates which are used to kick off proposals
Lead the development of Basis of Estimates to include tracking progress, validating, and analyzing actuals, ensuring consistency across the program, and confirming the estimating approach is sound
Prepare and present Gate 3 charts for program / company leadership review of proposal information
Ensure full FAR compliance on all proposals. The position is capable of providing compliance guidance on complex situations
Assess, develop, and implement solutions leading to a thorough proposal submittal
Interface and coordinate with all levels of management within the program (this includes ensuring alignment on priorities, strategies, expectations, and status)
Perform detailed and complex analysis of inputs to ensure soundness in our estimates
Assist in training and supporting other estimators (FAR requirements, proposal process, etc.)·
Effective planning and scheduling skills that lead to the completion of proposal efforts in accordance to customer and company requirements
Qualifications/ Experience Needed:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Person
Experience with SAP, BMW, PARS, Pro Pricer and MS Excel
Prior involvement with GFR, DCMA, and DCAA
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Cost Estimating or Pricing activities for US Government contracts
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Effectively communicate with all levels of management
Managing multiple and varied tasks
Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines
