Principal Java/Python Software Engineer (Onsite)

Software Engineers are needed on multiple mission-critical classified programs. Experience all aspects of a software development life-cycle as a member of a fast-paced agile team. This includes software design, implementation, and test under the direction of a more senior-level engineer, supporting customer demonstrations, and developing and executing automated software tests.

What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate for this position would be a well-rounded developer with hands-on experience using Java (Required) and Python (Preferred).  Working knowledge of Puppet, Angular 11+, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.  The candidate must be able to adapt quickly to changing needs and technologies as the work required in this position ranges from Infrastructure as Code to modern UI development (full-stack).

Security Clearance Requirements:
An active and in-scope Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance.
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $20,000 for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at RIS.

Required Experience:
•Experience developing, integrating, and testing software to ensure proper operation of software systems
•Experience in Java on a Linux platform
•Experience with Python on a Linux platform
•Experience using AWS Cloud Services
•Working knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
•Experience in DevOps technologies such as Puppet, Chef, Terraform/Ansible, Cucumber, Gherkin, Jenkins, and Maven
•Experience with ElasticStack (Elasticsearch, Fluent, Kibana)
•Experience performing Unit Testing using Junit
•Experience using source control tools such as Git
•Experience with multi-threaded applications
•Experience using agile software methodologies such as Scrum
•Experience with Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration tools (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence, Crucible, etc)
•Ability to provide direct customer interaction for the purpose of conveying software design decisions and/or performing software installation support
•Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment

Required Education:
8 years of relevant experience with a BS degree (typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics,); or 6 years of relevant experience with a MS degree (typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics,)
