This requisition is for a Manufacturing Engineer on the Site Project and Execution Team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The person hired for this position will apply advanced engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations to achieve site goals. The overarching roles and responsibilities skills of this position are improving quality, reducing costs, and improving the flow of product with an emphasis in technical support for factory test and test process flow improvement. This position will provide the opportunity for independent action AND working in a team environment of manufacturing engineers, production personnel, management, and other support organizations.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities for this position will be primarily site level projects and providing guidance and support to teams needing additional Manufacturing Engineering support. This job will focus primarily on these areas:
Identify and resolve difficult test process issues
Assist IPTs with difficult test issues that are significantly impacting product performance
Lead or support improvements and sustainment of existing and future site initiatives (e.g., TPM, capital planning, test standard work, etc.)
Identify site process improvements involving test solution enhancements, standardization, and road maps through use of test yields, Test Data Management System (TDMS), benchmarking, etc.
Provide feedback and guidance on new test solutions
Lead or support site test process improvement projects
Support site corrective actions
Critical Skills & Attributes (to possess or learn)
Problem solving/root cause analysis
Test flow optimization
Troubleshooting radio frequency (RF) electronics
Oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and power meter operation
Cost benefit analysis for test process flow improvement & risk avoidance
Statistical Process Control tools including TDMS
Excels at collaboration and able to delegate
Project management & organization
Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures
Minimal oversight required
Desire to learn and stretch beyond your daily duties
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
