Raytheon Vision Systems in Goleta, California is seeking a Principal Yield Engineer for the Focal Plane Operations Organization. As a semiconductor yield engineer, your job is to uncover where our manufacturing processes need to be fixed. You will need a keen understanding of semiconductor processing, metrology, and failure analysis as well as a strong statistical analysis skillset for appropriately leveraging large factory datasets.
As a yield engineer, you will be expected to monitor process and product yields across multiple wafer product lines as well as the focal plane array flip-chip bonding back-end process line. You will need to collaborate effectively with chief engineers, product engineers, process engineers, and technicians to solve difficult problems and drive continuous improvement solutions. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead RCCA and yield improvement teams as well as continuous improvement initiatives from day-to-day. You will also help scope strategic initiatives which will improve future factory performance and predictability by avoiding future yield excursions before they happen.
In addition, you will be responsible for mining in-process equipment and metrology data, product data, and characterization data to help drive root cause and corrective action and improve our yields. You will need to perform statistical analysis of large datasets, and move the organization toward applied intelligence and more automated use of big data.
