This position is for a Software Engineer and Integrator role in the Avionics Advanced Technology Development group.  This group supports the Physiological Monitoring team within the Avionics Strategic Business Unit in maturing and transitioning technologies that enable advanced capabilities and functions across the organization. The team is cross-functional and composed of systems and software engineers with a variety of expertise. Areas of near term focus include development and application of current, next, and future technologies for both the commercial and military autonomy problem spaces.

As a systems integrator on the team you will be part of a highly motivated and extremely innovative team supporting the development of rapid prototypes and proof of concepts for internal and external demonstrations.  This is a unique position where every day will be a little bit different with new challenges and problems to be solved allowing you to use a diverse set of skills and continue to learn new ones. This role typically involved maturing technology from ideation to flight test. This is a hybrid position that can be based in either Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Wilsonville, Oregon. A comprehensive relocation package is available.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead the software integration and development of physiological monitoring prototypes
• Work with subcontractors to define requirements for novel software solutions
• Present directly to external customers on prototype and demonstrate technology concepts
• Perform hands-on integration of sensor prototypes to new and existing product line technologies

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.  
• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder 
• Proficient in C / C++
• Experience with Python
• Experience with UNIX/Linux
• Willingness to learn about novel solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with image processing
• Experience with AI/ML
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing priorities and schedules
• Comfortable speaking to large groups / presenting technical solutions
