We are seeking Principal Test Engineer to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located a stone’s throw from seaside Newport, Rhode Island. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to execution of test plans for Linux & VxWorks software development efforts, hardware & software integration efforts, and test planning and development. The ideal candidate enjoys in a multi-disciplinary role and is comfortable adapting to and identifying new technologies as needed.
What you will do
- Develop test plans, test procedures, and test tools for multiple programs
- Perform testing of both HW and SW systems, isolate failures, and propose solutions
- Interface with DoD clients executing formal sell-off test events and integration test periods
- Work closely with development teams when bugs are identified to track and resolve issues
- Requirements tracking and verification
What you need
- BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant discipline and 8 years of experience or MS grad with degree and 5 years of experience
- Test execution experience in software environments, and documentation of test results
- Experience with test tracking software tools
- Position may require some amount of overnight travel
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Additional Skills that would be great
- Advanced degree or additional experience will be compensated appropriately
- Current Top Secret US Government security clearance
- Experience and knowledge of software development in C
- Experience working with embedded systems
- Experience with Atlassian toolset (i.e. Jira and Confluence)
- Experience in QA or configuration management
