Position summary

This position is for an experienced Principal Systems Engineering professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise to support the Secure Sensor Solutions (S3) Business Unit.  Working in a focused, cross-functional team of engineers designing and developing aviation products.  The candidate should have skills and experience in the major disciplines of systems engineering: modeling and simulation, systems architecture development, requirements development/management, and verification and validation.

Responsibilities:

•Provide technical leadership with a heavy emphasis on the system lifecycle: requirements, design, development, test

•Provide system-level engineering expertise to a cross-functional engineering team including management of system-level requirements and supporting allocation of requirements to lower-level functions

•Establishing and adhering to budget and schedules for system engineering activities

•Development of mathematical algorithms for radar signal processing and calibration, and for target tracking and data fusion

•Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test requirements verification

•Represent the company to customers in a highly professional manner through email, teleconferences, and in-person presentations

•Conduct or participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead.

•Active participant in the management of project risks and opportunities, and support execution of mitigation actions and contingency plans

•Exercise technical acuity and an understanding of RIS products/systems, production methods, development processes and support methodologies

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

•Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years’ experience OR

•In absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required

•Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

•Note: past experience must include successful experience in leading requirements and design (“front end”) as well as integration and test (“back end”)

•MATLAB and DOORS experience

•Expertise in one or more technology areas or disciplines: Radars, Antennas, GPS, Testing, Agile Development, etc.

•Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate teamwork across functions

•Proven ability to work productively with minimal supervision

•U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems

•Must have ability to obtain Secret Clearance and SSBI/Special Access Clearance

•Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Security Clearance PRIOR to starting

•Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

•This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate Government Agency for non-U.S. persons

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience with MBSE processes and tools including Cameo, Rhapsody, SysML, and/or UML

•Programming experience in modern computer programming languages (JAVA, C++, python)

•Performance predictions and analysis of data from radars on various platforms

•Experience with financial management, such as a past role as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead or Cost Account Manager (CAM)

•Current certification in Earned Value Management (EVM)

•Experience supporting a software development or maintenance program using Agile or Scrum methodologies

•Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: Signal Processing, search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, synthetic aperture radar mapping, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive techniques

•Demonstrated mathematical problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
