Job summary:

Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to support Command & Telemetry software systems development and maintenance. The candidate will participate in full Agile processes including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives to ensure products integrate with the ground segment. They will also work to create well written stories that are development ready and will work with the team to maintain effective story point estimation. The Principal Systems Engineer will also support ground system development and maintenance activities as well as the definition of operations concepts and procedure planning and development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with software, integration and verification teams developing and maintaining requirements, algorithm description documents and user manuals

  • Systems engineering lifecycle experience

  • Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management, customer base and individual contributors on the program team

  • Good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Current TSSCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in satellite command and control

  • Program Domain experience

  • Development experience on a government contract

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methods

  • Experience with Raytheon Eclipse software product line

  • Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence,

Azure Devops, Cameo EA or similar tools

  • Understanding of automation techniques

  • Experience with Linux or Unix command line execution

  • Experience working in a multi-discipline environment

Education and Experience Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience OR
6 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
