Position summary

Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) is seeking a Principal Chief Engineer (CE) in Riverdale, MD or Aurora, CO.

The Principal Chief Engineer (CE) will lead a team located in both Aurora, CO and Riverdale, MD.  The CE is responsible for the oversight and leadership of all problem resolution boards and dispositions the work. The CE will regularly interface with customers on technical and operational issues and oversee detailed development and deployment efforts for multiple operational sites.

Duties may include:

  • Problem Resolution Board Chair and engage other engineering boards

  • Technical oversight and guidance of planning, integration, test, and deployment

  • Continuing the DevSecOps migration, including software modernization, in an Agile environment

  • Extensive communication with the program management office and customer

Work Location:

Riverdale, MD or Aurora, CO

Relocation assistance available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements

Clearance Requirements:

An active and in-scope Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $15,000 for the candidate hired with an Active TS/SCI that can be verified before start at RIS

Required Skills:

  • Engineering technical leadership experience

  • Mission management/scheduling and command and control systems

  • Operations concept development, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control

  • System development lifecycle with a focus on system integration and system test in a DevSecOps environment

  • Experience creating a vision and leading a team to implement common principles across the enterprise

  • Experience determining solutions compliant with system performance, availability, and reliability constraints

  • Experience using DOORS for requirements management and verification

  • Travel in the United States and Internationally as required

Desired Skills:

  • Chief Engineer (CE) / Lead SE on a government contract

  • Satellite ground control and monitoring systems

  • Security requirements & tools

  • Logistics and scheduling experience

  • System administration, integration, networking or quality/mission assurance

  • Experience in cost estimation

   •Participating in Engineering Gate reviews

  • Earned Value Management experience

Education and Experience Requirements:

8 years of relevant experience with a BS degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics); or

6 years of relevant experience with a MS degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
