Principal Systems Engineer -(Onsite)($30k Signing Bonus)

Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced systems engineer capable of utilizing an interdisciplinary approach focusing on customer needs and requirements to design, develop, document and test hardware and/or software systems ranging from the straightforward to extremely complex. The position will require the pro-active assessment, development and maintenance of a consistent verification and validation plan and decomposition of requirements as well as a solid foundation in integration, verification and test planning methodology to ensure successful program execution. Exceptional dedication to the success of the system integration and test solution and their ability to execute to the baseline plan is expected.

Signing bonuses of up to $30,000 are available for active Top Secret security clearance holders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• May serve as system lead in integration, verification and validation for large complex systems

• Apply a solid systems engineering background to software/hardware integration and IV&V tasking with emphasis in Linux and embedded systems

• Apply significant domain knowledge and knowledge of products, systems and applicable regulatory requirements across business units

• Capture, analyze, decompose, model, translate and create requirements for large complex systems

• Candidate must have an extensive working knowledge of requirements management tools and skilled in evaluating system requirements for verification purposes

• Must have a strong working knowledge of common systems engineering practices/processes, requirement analysis and decomposition, requirements management and test documentation, test execution and test reporting

• Apply critical systems thinking, troubleshooting (hardware and software) and problem solving in a dynamic environment

• Apply digital engineering methods and tools to deploy mission solutions faster and more efficiently

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR

• In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

• Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

• Must have prior military aircraft integration experience

• Must have previous experience on a defense-related program/project

• Must be able to travel domestically approximately 25% of the time (to east coast or Oklahoma City)

• Must be a U.S. citizen

• Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance preferred

• Prior experience with VLF/LF TX/RX systems is desired

• Candidate must have strong communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-functional team comprised of systems engineers, software engineers, hardware engineers, information assurance engineers and other engineering disciplines.
