Job Summary:
Raytheon is looking for a Principal RF and Antenna Engineer to be a team member of an adaptable and multidiscipline development team within the Space Protection and Control mission area. Responsibilities will include analysis, trade studies, design reviews, design, testing, fielding, and operations throughout the life cycle from initial concept definition through detailed design, development, and qualification testing and into fielding and customer support. The ideal candidate will have a thorough engineering background with experience in radio frequency (RF) communications links and systems, antenna design, functionality, and operation.
Location: Aurora, CO (Onsite)
Security Clearance: An Active TS/SCI Security Clearance, Able to obtain Special Access "Active and transferable https://U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. https://U.S. citizenship is required, as only https://U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance."
Basic Qualifications:
Current/existing TS/SCI security clearance
Minimum 8+ years of related work experience
Experience with formal test and verification methodologies associated with ground station antenna and antenna electronics
Knowledgeable on key specifications for ground station antenna to include systems performance measurements (G/T, EIRP, feed/sub alignment), and general maintenance activities.
Deep satellite RF link design experience (forward error correction encoding, modulation, Doppler effects, radome effects modeling, system link budgets, weather, etc.)
Experience with RF test procedure development and implementation
Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all levels of the organization, including Government customer, Program leadership, subcontractors, and support organizations
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (https://e.g. Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing and able to travel, as required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with reflector system design, feed antenna design, solid state amplifiers performance parameters, high power tube amplifiers technology and associated key performance parameters.
Ability to translate mission needs into technical capability requirements.
Experience with radar / communications systems signals processing
Experience with reference timing signals distribution design, computer networking, basic cyber security/INFOSEC, Security A+ certification or equivalent desirable
Experience operating RF test equipment, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generators, phase noise test sets, and near-field probes
Education and Experience Requirements:
8 years of relevant experience, typically with a Bachelor's degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics); OR
6 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
