    Job Summary:

    Raytheon Solipsys is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX) with headquarters in Fulton. MD.  Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.

    We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer with a specific focus on Safety Engineering to serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert on challenging software development projects.  The successful candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.

    This position is offering 100% remote work location.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Subject Matter Expert in Safety evaluation for software requirements System requirements analysis, definition and management System architecture design and trade studies.
    • Technical support for software development team.
    • Systems integration and functional and performance requirements verification.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in Systems Engineering (or 5 years with an advanced STEM degree)
    • Experience as systems safety engineer or similar experience on a software development program
    • Previous experience with any of these systems: Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems, Satellites or similar
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Value:

    • Working knowledge of Mil-Std-882E and the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook Implementation Guide
    • Knowledge of Tactical Data Links message protocols such as Link 16
    • Understanding of track filtering and track management techniques and algorithms
    • Ability to understand and apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil-Std-499B)
    • Knowledge of a Requirements Management Tool such as DOORS or RequisitePro
    • Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques, and the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the use of a system architecture management tool such as Sparxsystems Enterprise Architect and Cameo
    • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and applying them as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
    • Adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience
    • Strong ability to work with standard MS Office product suite applications
    • Advanced Degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
    • May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area

    The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
