Position Description:

Vulnerability Researchers at Raytheon CODEX analyze systems to understand how they work and how they behave when they break. Candidates must be able to play both sides of the fence, both developing and defeating new and advanced security techniques. Projects will be undertaken in small teams with close coordination with customers. All of our engineers write code, but many of our engineers spend as much time taking systems apart as building new ones. A typical day may involve studying disassembly or writing python to audit a piece of C++ code.

Required Skills: 

• 5 years of experience with C or C++
• Experience developing proof-of-concept exploits
• Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
• May have deep knowledge of project management. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systems.

Desired Skills: 

• Understanding of Operating System internals for either Windows or Linux

• Experience reading / writing x86 assembly

• Understanding of exploit mitigations such as DEP and ASLR

• Experience using reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro and Ghidra

• Experience using debuggers

Education Requirements:

• Position will require a BS in a technical field or a combination of years of experience in lieu of degree

Location:

• The place of performance for this work will be a customer facility in or near Dulles, Virginia.
