Procurement Specialist - Engineering Items (HYBRID)

The Procurement Specialist will evaluate purchase requisitions, solicit supplier quotes via RFQ process, and place purchase orders in accordance with department compliance procedures, and correspond with external suppliers as needed to ensure on-time delivery.

Hybrid:

• Must be a commutable distance from Windsor Locks, CT to work a hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and place purchase orders/schedule agreements, manage several suppliers/components, and ensure product is delivered on time and meets quality standards.
• Responsible for delivery and quality assurance, cost management, quote preparation, negotiations, and work transfers.
• Manage CRMs, ensuring quick turnaround, support any investigations related to them
• Attend program status and production meetings.
• Communicate status updates to internal customers.
• Meet multiple deadlines and ensure targets are identified and met.
• Actively participate in the development and execution of supplier strategies to improve delivery and quality performance.
• Interface with program leadership, engineering, quality, production control, internal and external suppliers, customers, and the supply base.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events and activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP experience

• Purchasing or planning experience

• Experience presenting to all levels in the organization
