The Production Controller schedules work for 60 intermediate and professional level of repair technicians. They assist management with cell productivity, guide scheduling, sequencing of work, and production innovation to optimize repair capacity and quality on the 1st Shift.
The Production Controller supports planning and scheduling daily operations within the Aircraft Accessories – Value Stream. They collaborate with Repair Engineering, Quality Control, Repair Contracts Administration and Supply Chain Operations. The Production Controller coordinates with the machine shop, parts crib, maintenance, metrology and management team to ensure all parts and equipment are available as needed to complete necessary work.
The Production Controller thrives in a fast-paced team environment where everyone collaborates to exceed the contractual turnaround time, customer service level and sales goals.
The Production Controller is Onsite in Windsor Locks, CT.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and execute scheduling for multiple cells to meet or exceed contractual repair requirements.
Assist with identifying and executing cost reduction and process improvement initiatives in multiple cells to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
Guide the sequencing of work for multiple cells or a complex cell to optimize productivity.
Collaborate across a multifunctional team to facilitate materials and logistics problem resolution for multiple cells to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
Collaborate with the quality team
Assist the Value Stream Manager with program management to accommodate and ensure customer and fleet needs are being met.
Oversee repair operations (shop floor management, workforce management and flow management).
Assist with maintenance and metrology scheduling.
Identify impacts to work in progress and ensure essential equipment and test rigs are maintained minimizing operational impacts.
Work with Order Administration daily in order ensure contractual requirements are being met for over 500 work orders.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP Experience
Intermediate level excel knowledge including chart presentation and data analysis
Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience as part of a team in a LEAN environment
