    Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced, proactive, and goal-oriented professional to lead Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) execution on critical components in the Operations organization.

    Execution of MRL elements to drive process control will dramatically improve the company’s quality and delivery signature. The Product Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for specific process or process family MRL advancement through the execution of MRL elements such as PFMEA, Control Plan & Gage R&R. The scope of this role will include both Pratt & Whitney internal shop and supply chain components. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead Manufacturing Readiness for Turbine Airfoil Casting as part of the Integrated Product Team to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to improve quality performance using Problem Solving Methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, Fishbone Diagrams, PFMEA and Process Controls).
    • Use statistical analysis tools to perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product.
    • Team player being able to work collaboratively and independently, follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations, and recommendations.
    • Participate in manufacturing process councils that drive systemic process improvements, communicate and document lessons learned and developed continuous improvement actions and standards.
    • Assess new product for manufacturability based on existing or future manufacturing methods and process development.
    • Participate on manufacturing reviews, transitions, new product introduction and manufacturing standard work improvements.
    • Participate in Supplier assessments for technical and manufacturing capability and quality.  Coach and provide technical support for Casting supplier development and problem resolution plans. Compile part family yield history to identify any potential issues implement counter measure to address.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field with 5 years of prior relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Engineering, or Quality or Masters
    • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts
    • Experience working with suppliers and leading continuous improvement activities.
    • Project Leadership with demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities and leading initiatives within cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics using Minitab or other statistical software
    • Ability to Travel to Supplier sites up to 10-20%.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Engineering preferred
    • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written), work and relate with people at all levels of the organization and be self-sufficient
    • Investment Casting experience
    • ACE/CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner or equivalent Professional certification
    • Project Management Certification
